Preparing a FORTS 38 Station for Its Next Assignment
A deployable station's next assignment starts with understanding its current configuration and condition. Records from the previous project help the team plan the work, equipment and site needs for the next one. For a FORTS 38 facility, that includes the shelter, connected arrangement and selected support systems.

Keep the configuration record current
Record the shelter layout, furnishings and installed equipment at the end of an assignment. Note changes made during use and identify items that belong to the department or another supplier.
Keep the applicable operating and maintenance instructions with those records. They should relate to the actual equipment and configuration.
Plan maintenance and refurbishment
Follow the supplied inspection and maintenance guidance and bring any repair or refurbishment needs to FORTS. Replaceable wall panels and refurbishment are part of the platform's long-term-use story; the work needed depends on the individual facility.
Include the selected HVAC, electrical and support equipment in the maintenance discussion. Assign responsibility for each system and retain service records.
Review the next use before moving
A later assignment may need different rooms, furniture or connections. Compare that use with the existing arrangement before committing to a receiving-site plan.
For connected facilities, review which shelters and support pods will travel and how they will be arranged. Equipment changes can also affect packing, handling and service requirements.
Prepare the move as a complete scope
Use the applicable instructions to establish disconnection, transport stowage and handling requirements. Coordinate the next site's access, placement and connections with the delivery plan.
Share the current configuration and intended next use with FORTS. This gives the manufacturer a concrete basis for discussing adaptation, replacement parts or refurbishment.
